The B098-016 offers software and security features that surpass the requirements of even the most demanding applications. These features include Network UPS Tools for UPS monitoring and PowerMan for PDU and RPC functions. It also supports PCI DSS 3.2, FIPS 140-2, SSL, SSH, stateful firewall, OpenVPN and IPSec VPN security standards. Its embedded Open SSL module is validated to meet FIPS-140-2 standards and has received certificate #2473.
Tripp Lite’s B098-016 16-Port Console Server provides in-band and out-of-band remote access to routers, servers, switches, firewalls, UPS systems, PDUs and other serial-based network devices. In just 1U of space, it offers reliable connectivity with dual Gigabit primary ports, a failover Ethernet port, dual SFP ports and dual power supplies (two C13 to 5-15P power cords included). It’s perfect for remote management of small to mid-size data centers, server rooms, wiring closets, branch offices, point-of-sale kiosks and any location that requires immediate resolution of network-based issues.
This console server uses standard Cat5e/6 patch cables (two Cat5e cables included) and integrates easily with industry-standard servers via TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP and Kerberos authentication. With 16 GB of internal NAND flash memory, you can use it to store logs and files without an external drive. The memory is expandable using a user-supplied SD card.
Features 2 USB Console Ports for Connection to Newer Devices
Two USB 2.0 console ports allow you to connect the B098-016 to newer USB devices, like Tripp Lite’s WEBCARDLX-equipped UPS systems and PDUs.
The B098-016 includes Wi-Fi and supports both Client and WAP modes. Simply attach the included 2.4 GHz antenna to the unit’s main Wi-Fi port, and you’re ready to go. For a stronger signal, connect a second antenna (not included) to the unit’s auxiliary port.
Features Gateways that Port Forward to an Unlimited Number of Local Hosts
The B098-016 features a built-in stateful firewall and embedded DHCP server that hosts a separate LAN for critical traffic. Each of its gateways can port forward to an unlimited number of computers, routers and other locally networked host devices.
In the event a remote site experiences network failure, the B098-016 supports out-of-band (alternate channel) access to devices. Simply connect an RJ11 telephone/modem cable between the unit’s front-facing RJ11 port and a functioning landline to allow the modem to dial out.
Mounts Easily with Included Hardware
The B098-016 comes with mounting brackets for installation in any EIA-standard 19 in. rack. It also includes rubber feet, so you can put it on a desk or table and not worry about it sliding around or marring the surface.
