The N482-3M8-LC12 breakout cassette is designed to work with Tripp Lite’s N482-01U or N482-02U chassis or N482-00U sleeve as an easy-to-handle low-cost solution for connecting fiber cabling, plus it’s a lower-cost solution than using custom breakout cables. Using this modular fiber cassette, you can interconnect any combination of 10 Gb and 40 Gb network equipment in a simple, elegant and highly flexible way.
The cassette module snaps right in to Tripp Lite’s N482-01U 1U chassis (capacity: 5 cassettes, up to 60 Duplex LC ports) or the N482-02U 2U chassis (capacity: 14 cassettes, up to 168 Duplex LC ports). Just pop out the chassis’ blanking panel, slide in the cassette and secure it with the integrated retention clips. Factory-terminated connectors reduce installation time and labor costs.
The N482-3M8-LC12 is built for use with N820-, N821-, N844- and N858-Series cables. You can connect up to 12 LC duplex fiber cables with three 8-fiber MTP/MPO connections. The 8-fiber MTP ports are Polarity B, optimized for parallel optics and Base-8 connectivity. Tripp Lite’s compatible cables have built-in push-pull tabs so adding or removing cables in the N482-3M8-LC12 is very easy and can be done without using a tool.
Tripp Lite’s modular solution makes it easy to modify, upgrade or expand your infrastructure as your needs grow. If you need to change out a single cassette, you can do so without replacing the panel or removing other cassettes. Because this system supports devices of varying speeds, you can mix and match 10 GB and 40 GB network equipment. The cassette supports 40 GbE internally using OM4 fiber optic cables and is ideal for QSFP fabric switches that use eight out of 12 available MTP fibers for four-lane parallel optics to 40 Gb.
This breakout cassette complies with IEEE 802.3ae (10 GbE) and ANSI T11.2 (Fibre Channel) requirements. The 0.35 dB maximum insertion loss falls under IEEE 802.3ae maximum channel loss spec of <25 dB.
For peace of mind, the N482-3M8-LC12 comes with a lifetime warranty. It’s also manufactured in compliance with strict RoHS specifications, reflecting Tripp Lite’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
