Tripp Lite’s B160-202-HDSI matrix/extender kit comes with two B160-001-HDSI transmitters and two B160-100-HDSI receivers. It converts DVI or HDMI audio/video signals from two source devices, such as Blu-ray players or media servers, into IP-based signals for transmission to two HDMI monitors via Cat5e/6 cable. This kit is perfect for airports, classrooms, trade show booths, movie theaters, retail spaces, hotel lobbies, places of worship and other applications where two displays need to show content from two sources located a considerable distance away.
In a point-to-point installation, this matrix/extender kit lets you place your monitors or projectors up to 328 ft. (100 m) from your sources. With the addition of a dedicated network switch, you can extend that distance to 656 ft. (200 m). It supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 (1080p) at 60 Hz and 24-bit True Color in a managed switch installation. It also extends IR signals that control a DVI or HDMI source, as well as RS-232 signals at baud rates up to 57600 bps. This lets you operate the source devices’ remote controls while standing near the receivers.
Connect an Ethernet switch with Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) to create an installation with multiple sources and displays. Add multiple managed switches to create a multi-in/multi-out installation with up to 64 transmitters and 255 receivers. The IGMP-enabled switch will provide centralized control over which sources transmit to which displays.
With no software or drivers required, the B160-202-HDSI’s transmitters and receivers are completely plug and play. Included hardware supports rack-mount, wall-mount or pole-mount installation. Both transmitters support the addition of local displays for monitoring the images being transmitted. Simply plug a display into a transmitter’s local output using HDMI cable, such as Tripp Lite’s P568- or P569-series (sold separately).
