The IS1800HGDV Medical-Grade™ Transformer, part of Tripp Lite’s acclaimed Isolator® series, with full CAN/ES/IEC/EN 60601-1 listing is ideal for protecting sensitive electronics, including diagnostic and lab equipment, in patient care vicinities. UL 60601-1 compliance is required for isolation transformers within patient care vicinities to avoid hazardous conditions and provide an optimally safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
At 1800 watts, the IS1800HGDV has more than enough capacity to handle a variety of essential devices. Selectable 115V/230V input/output voltage with step-up, step-down or pass-through operation is also suitable for a wide range of devices and facilities. A 240-joule surge protection rating suppresses excess voltage to prevent it from damaging connected equipment (the unit automatically shuts down all outlets in case of overload). Transformer filtering provides continuous common-mode EMI/RFI line noise rejection with no wearable parts. The IS1800HGDV reduces 6000V IEEE 587 Category A and B ring wave and combination wave test surges to only 0.5V common mode.
By isolating equipment from unpredictable and disruptive utility power, the IS1800HGDV eliminates the need for dedicated circuits or costly upgrades to your facility’s electrical system. With 100-percent isolation from the input mains AC line, the Faraday shield reduces the cumulative leakage current of the IS1800HGDV and connected equipment to levels less than 100 microamps. It also removes utility switching transients and harmonics generated by other on-site loads and reduces the impact of utility- or lightning-related surge conditions.
The IS1800HGDV has both a potential equalization bolt (POAG) and an earth ground lug connector, which can be used for connecting to equi-potential earthing equipment terminals. The transformer can then be connected to other medical instruments. The POAG connection complies with the Medical Safety Standard EN 60601-1. Use the equi-potential earth screw to connect to any equipment that requires equi-potential earth connection and does not have a POAG connection.
The rugged all-metal housing is designed to withstand frequent use in demanding industrial, medical, office, network and audio/video applications. Equipment plugs into eight C13 outlets with fuse overload protection. A lighted on/off switch controls current to all eight outlets. A C20-to-C19 input cord (sold separately) is required for connecting the transformer to AC power.
