Bose SoundLink
- The design has a simple / premium look and has an excellent rubber texture for comfort and to create a greater grip.
- Set up is super fast and youユre able to connect up to 8 devices.
- It's Bose, so expect crisp sound, rich in lows / highs, and a decent bass, given the size of it.
- Outdoor and ready to go at a moment notice.
- For Bluetooth range, I used it close to 35 feet without any disturbance in changing music.
- Very light for what Bose normally designs its products.
- Battery life is 8 hours or less. A lot of competitors have already gone beyond 15 +hours on battery life, so this was a bummer to find out.
- No power adapter on a USB cable. No idea why they didnユt provide one, especially if you only have a wall outlet.
- Itユs メSplash resistantモ but there are a decent amount of openings that if water gets inside it will be lights out (Still able to take it outdoors, just not close to the pool).
- Not a problem to me but compare to Boseユs usually quality; the bass on this is decent but not great. This becomes more obvious when youユre outside.
- Doesnユt give that much height in volume. Itユs still good but I expected a higher limit.
Bose in one of the best around in stereos and this gives you a taste of it. Itユs a good speaker and I love the fact that you can take it anywhere and experience Bose quality at a moment notice. I do not like the fact that the battery life is this low, given what competitors are already selling, and not making it waterproof does make you become a little more protective of it (if youユre going to bring it on the road).
A week after receiving the Color 2 it stopped working. It would not charge, no lights would come on, and it would not reset. Returned it for another one. We'll see how the replacement does. I was surprised and interested to learn that others have had the same problem. There are Color 2 lemons. Buy at your own risk though I'm willing to take the chance because of Amazon's return policy and because I've had a 1st generation Color and have had no problems with it.
The Soundlink Color 2 is water resistant, but not water proof, most speakers like this will hide the ports behind a weather sealed door, so while this makes accessing the ports easier, Bose points out in the manual to not allow liquids to spill into any openings. The Soundlink Color 2ユs battery is rated at up to 8 hours, and while that was a lot 2 years ago when the original was released, but since then, the competition has upped the ante with batteries lasting 15, 20 hours or more on a single charge.
