HDCP Converter

HDCP Converter

HDCP 2.2 is latest evolution of content protection. In other words, it’s the magic part of the HDMI signal that keeps people from copying DVDs, BluRays, streaming video, and other protected content. The good news is this allows Hollywood to capitalize on all their hard earned work. The bad news is you are going to have to purchase your own copy of Dances with Wolves. The even worse news is there are several versions of HDCP, and not all versions are compatible with each other.

So what does this mean? This means that a BluRay player that supports HDCP version 1.4 won’t be compatible with a TV that supports HDCP version 2.2. And HDCP is limited to just TV’s and BluRay…any device which connects via an HDMI cable supports and relies on a version of HDCP.

So what do I do? You purchase an TL-C-HDCP converter and place it inline between your incompatible source and destination devices.

The TL-C-HDCP was developed to convert the latest version of HDCP (2.2) to one of the most common versions of HDCP (1.4), in essence allowing brand new equipment to be integrated into an existing audio-visual system.
