The RocketStor 6414VS features a robust 4-Bay Tower enclosure, RocketRAID 644LS PCIe 6Gb/s SATA RAID adapter, a comprehensive user friendly RAID Management Interface, and industry leading Value RAID technology.

Robust & Versatile Tower Enclosure

The stylish, brushed aluminum chassis features an external 6Gb/s Mini-SAS port and four removable hot-swap bays , which support any 2.5" or 3.5" SATA Hard Drive or SSD of your choice. Customers have the freedom to use their choice of SATA SSD’s for performance or large hard disks for maximum capacity, from all major drive brands including HGST, Seagate, Toshiba and WDC. Built in LED’s and audible alarms are provided to quickly notify the administrator in the case of hardware failure or environmental warning such as power loss or overheating.

The RocketStor 6414VS is designed to replace Port Multiplier Storage Solutions. It offers comparable pricing and a 50% performance gain compared to Port-Multiplier based RAID 5 Storage solutions.

SATA port-multipliers are unidirectional splitting devices – the total available transfer bandwidth is limited to that of a single SATA port. This design places severe limitations on SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drive performance. In addition, Port-Multiplier solutions rely on industry-standard eSATA connectivity, which was designed for 3Gb/s transfer speeds; this further limits the performance potential of modern 6Gb/s SATA devices, and is potentially less secure for sustained data transfer between such devices.

Mini-SAS connectivity delivers dedicated 6Gb/s bandwidth for each SATA channel, which ensures each SATA SSD or hard drive can deliver maximum performance. Each Mini-SAS port can directly support up to 4 individual SATA drives – the simplified 4-into-1 cabling design is ideal for small form-factor computing platforms and portable applications.
